Move a location when its current position in the location tree does not accurately reflect its place in your company. A location can be moved to any position in the tree, to become a top-level ("root") location or another location's sub-location. When you move a location that contains sub-locations, its sub-locations are moved along with it.
When you are rearranging the location tree, it is recommended that you move a location whenever possible (rather than deleting it and re-adding it elsewhere in the tree). This is more efficient and automatically updates all product assignments to the location with its new position.
To move a location:
Starting at the Location Tree page
Find and select the location you want to move. (If a location shows a plus (+) next to its name, you can click its name to open its immediate sub-locations.)
In the box on the left, click Move.
A menu and link provide the options for where the location can be moved.
Select where you want to move the location:
To move the location to become a sub-location under another location: In the Move to under this location menu, select the location that will become this location's immediate parent. Then click Save in the lower right.
To move the location to become a top-level ("root") location: Click the link provided for this move.
The location is moved to its new place in the location tree. All product assignments to the location are updated accordingly.
